Happy Thanksgiving!

I have been stockpiling some awesome photos because we've been going on so many awesome adventures, there isn't time to look back! So here we go!

Baba Yaga came to visit, but we have no pictures to prove it - there is only this picture we took in a coffee shop we found in Greenville, while we were waiting until it was time to go to the airport. We had a very nice time and got to show off some of the many walks we have been enjoying. And she read to all the children, often one book to the boys and one to Edie, at the same time.

She sent some awesome bread-and-butter presents too. John models his t-shirt, which he wore for two days in a row. Below are staged pictures Oscar took of several of the tiny cats that live in a cat-house. These belong to Edie in name but in fact John has thoroughly taken possession of the house by stuffing it with dice, lacing shapes, puzzle pieces - in his classic magpie style.

Edie will wear all the necklaces. Eric often brings her to daycare still wearing a necklace and gets scolded for this by Miss Ella. He will also get her ready for bed still wearing necklaces and gets scolded for this by me! It's not his fault, though, she is very sneaky about obtaining a necklace and stuffing it underneath her shirt.

I sent everyone outside last weekend and the boys found a turtle! Where else to put it but inside another turtle? The sandbox turtle was actually full of anoles, but they were willing to vacate the premises to let the real turtle rampage for a little while.

John then got himself dressed for an epic walk - pictures to come later - and was very proud of himself. He wore the bathing suit over his pants actually, and then had to do it again for school the next day. I was so cruel and did not let him wear them again on Tuesday.

Finally, Happy Thanksgiving! We had an awesome feast - everything was hot and ready at the same time, and everyone behaved well and took at least one bite of everything. And it was delicious, too. Garlic abounded (except in the cake, duh). I am quite proud of this cake, as I veganized it myself and it turned out juuuuust right - a pumpkin cake with buttercream frosting and salted caramel glaze. Eric has been eating it (he would never eat pumpkin pie) and said "I didn't even notice I ate a whole slice!" as though this was high praise. Which, for him, it kind of is.

Mmmm!
