Peach butt

Missing my fatherly duties while here in south carolina. I saw this little peach butt on my desk and couldn't resist changing a diaper or two.

John was sick yesterday so we watched a little Baraka. Then Oscar watched it too and boy did he think it was funny. This was the funniest part to him, and all of us.



Eric leaves for Clemson, SC tomorrow to learn all about plant genomics with Chris Saski. We have enjoyed saying that name in all possible ways. I'm nervous Eric will found out we've been saying it wrong once he gets there. It will be 100+ this week, so think cooling thoughts for him. We're hoping he doesn't melt, it wouldn't take long.

And Elizabeth arrives tomorrow! We can't wait! So many popsicles to eat.

Hello there

We went on a hike today up in the mountains. Oscar walked almost the whole way up, and ran the whole way down. John snuggled in the carrier very quietly and sleepily. And hotly. Now we're all wiped out and taking baths. A good birthday experience, one week late!

Oscar told his first joke the other day. "What did one egg say to the other egg?" "Let's crack, man!" (You have to shout the answer very fast.)

And Oscar is now officially potty-trained at daycare! Special undies for hm on Monday!

Otherwise, it's hot, we're sciencing a lot and writing papers, and the garden is delightfully jungly. I made a book for Oscar called "Who's going to the beach?" and so now the excitement is very high.
