Look ma, no hands!

I went to Greenville on Saturday and ate Indian food at Swad, which tasted better than it sounds. The weather has changed and is so very pleasant now - no sweating, no bugs, unless you're doing something unusual. So Eric and the kids spent some time in the great outdoors, all on their own. Oscar started directing a series of videos, which I'll share with you first:

Then a few tricks:

And later that night, John revealed something that explains, well, everything about being a John-boy.

Big Day Out

Margaret found a hike in a county park known as the "best kept secret of Oconee county" so we had to go check it out.  We all piled into the car and had a nice hike!  It was wonderful with lots of water, trees, mushrooms, and the second largest suspension bridge in the county!

First check out this beautiful millipede Oscar and I accidentally disturbed using the hose:

Ready for her first hike in the fancy backpack!

Our many attempts at family selfies:

Big bridge!

Loving the back pack!

Learning about trail blazes....we did the blue loop and Oscar led the way!

Lots of Fungi!

 There it is!:

Why is this plant blooming? Does it not know it is fall?

Oscar also stole my phone and took some pictures of the house and Garage:

Hairdo

Every now and then I get possessed, it happens to most people I think. And recently I realized Edie's hair is long enough to be "done". We tried it once. Of course she hated it, and screamed and cried and threw her head around just when I was almost done twisting the elastic band so her hair got pulled...and then of course it got undone immediately. And she wouldn't let us take any pictures.

But for about one minute she was sooooo cute!

Progress

It's rainy and our power was out this morning! We got dressed by candlelight and cell phone light. And there was cold coffee leftover from yesterday, so everything went just fine.

Edie is getting into lots of trouble now, especially so since she's found the toilet AKA the dunking tub. Oscar is getting into no trouble now, and is excited to earn extra privileges by activities like reading to himself.

Here they go!

Edie had to time her walks so she didn't get run over by the tricycle brothers.
