Sleepy Hollow again

We went for a walk on Saturday. We hadn't planned too, but as soon as breakfast was over Oscar and John started tearing through the house, and it was clear some jimmies needed to be shed. So we packed up and hit the road! As soon as we got to the trail the boys took off running and they barely stopped, except for this interlude of rock-throwing.

A little later we came upon a stump, and Edie knew just what to do.

The boys decided to hide in the nearby field. Can you spot the Oscar? Or maybe it's John?? Who knows!

Look ma, no hands!

Flushing the turkeys (ha ha ha)

When we were driving out of the park, a policeman stopped us to say, "There's been reports of a man dressed as a deer out in the woods, and it's hunting season, so... if you see him please let us know."
We were so disappointed that we hadn't known to keep an eye out until we were leaving, arg.

Eric's phone photo dump

We're reaching wayyy back into shorts weather to bring you up to speed on the things Eric's been hiding on his phone.

Jungle dome

Tiny pandas

John early on in his two wheel days

Practicing on balance beam #1

Our hike at Sleepy Hollow

Buncha creendas...

The Flash. Look at that pose, this boy is ready to learn some wushu!

They're not dead, they're making leaf angels.

And they are rightly suspicious of their sister's intentions

They figured out they could make potions in our giant silver bowl and set up a camp site for themselves out front - no adults involved!

Eric took the boys on a bike tour of downtown Lansing!

Somebody was messing with some letters...

Caught!

Look who's the master of the alphabet!

The saga of the swingset:

Building it in the driveway was a strong flex to the other neighborhood dads.

If we lose our jobs we might just start a circus!

Eric convinced our new neighbor Gianni to help him move the frame into the back yard.

Little monkey! Of course they all fight over who gets to swing. Edie insists she needs to be pushed.

Three child dogpile. John's on the bottom!

John draws a mean Minecraft witch.

In our neighbor Nona's yard! Sneaky deer, eating birdseed!

Oscar was Steve for Halloween. Eric made the head and included a frame inside so it couldn't spin around on Oscar's head. He's holding an enchanted sword.

John was a zombie. He's holding a pickax.

It took about 2 seconds before they started bashing each other...

The cats know the changing table will be a cat perch eventually, and they're staking their claim now. Ben cannot budge them.

Ready for a parade!

Ben was a bear. We all think it's funny to put Ben on the floor.

John's pumpkin was pre-rotted in the back so it always looked lit up.

Fade to black...

We went on another walk at Sleepy Hollow with our friends Atlas and Apollo. We ended up at the lake and my children decided to put their feet in the water, and then their legs in the water, and then decided to strip down to their undies! This was November 7th!! So they were all a little cold for the walk home, and Edie got to wear my jacket. Atlas and Apollo only got their feet wet, and thought it was very funny to see everyone's undies.

Fahfah shishah!
