The conference pictures are up online, here we all are! I posted it extra-big so it would be easy to find Edie. That's the patio that was just outside the rooms where the meetings were held. When Edie was fussy I would go hang out there and listen to the ocean and sea lions, and watch the sea otters and cormorants. She happened to be fussy whenever I wanted a break...

Fast Times at Montessori Preschool
For some reason Oscar doesn't like talking about his day at school. Sometimes he will tell us about aftercare, recess, or nap but never what he does all day for class! Luckily the school has started posting photos again and we have a sneak peak into his newly acquired skillz. Looks like he is working on counting and shapes right now and staying tidy.

August cont.
Oscar did a magic trick where he made his legs disappear.
Sadly, it also made him lose his mind.
We had Baba Yaga AND the Laufmans here at the same time, what a treat!
Annie even got a pic of the whole family for us. I don't know who taught Oscar about sticking out his tongue in pictures but now it seems to be de rigueur.
Edie has learned to smile a little, but it's fleeting. Also she and Mo-cat have come to some agreement about crib-sharing. She's the boss, of course.
Last weekend we walked on a different part of the Poudre trail. Walking was a little hard because of all the speedy bikes and because the boys were more focused on collecting good rocks to throw in the river later. We were able to find a nice spot that was also well-supplied with rocks, so we all got our fill of plonking. The boys also played an excellent game of trying to step on each other's shadow heads, which led to this nice lineup:
Tomorrow Edie and I head west to Monterey CA, for the International Society of Seed Science conference! She will learn a great deal about seeds I am sure.

August recap
It was full of visitors and feasting! Edie is enormous now! Less talk, more photos:
Oh, to sleep like a baby.
But then, torture, I mean, tummy time.
Another trip to Mount Margaret, in which we found the lake! All the children are good hikers for now. They haven't learned yet all the different things there are to complain about.
