Eric's hoard of pictures

We had a truly lovely weekend. I went kayaking with my new friend, and only burned the tops of my knees. There were motorboats and jetskis, but only a few, and we saw many fish jump. Then on Sunday we took the family to the YMCA beach, just outside Clemson. Sandy shore, with a rocky patch to find skippers, lots of minnows and sunfish, picnic benches and grills in the shade - and no one else! The water is clear and cool but never cold - Eric and John didn't shiver once! Oscar showed off his swimming, and the boys made sand castles, and Edie got wet and cried a lot. It was a wonderful day.

Here are some of the trove of pictures Eric had on his phone, including this weekend. Some of these go way back!

Oh, Mirriam-Webster, you are so rude.

Progress!

Oscar's last day of school - his own choice of hat

Eric and Dane and Oscar ate dinner here - outside Nashville I think

Moving van arrived - with everything still in it! The packing was so well done, not least because I didn't have to think about that part at all.

Choosing paint colors

Ta-da!

Exploring the jungle behind the house. Look out for the sori!

Stick bug! We found this one on the side of the house and another on the deck!

As promised - the beach!

Welcome to our new white home!

That's what John calls it, at least. He also says it is "humongous" and "riddiculous".

And here are some pictures, with more to come of course.

The office, newly green instead of beige. The cats love the deep windowsills, but it turns out they can pop the screens right out with their hefty bodies. Too bad for them!

There are plenty of doorways now for Edie's jumpy seat. She's working hard on putting those bad animals away, while Eric and Oscar take apart Paul's old computer. The living room is beige here, but now is light blue.

John is a big fan of all the tools we've been using, and has taken ownership of several screwdrivers.

The great room, also newly green instead of beige. Most of the instruments are hung but there are  few more awaiting hangers.

Let's go dippers!!

The pool has been a huge hit! The water from the hose is not nearly as cold, and the pool gets sun only during mid-day, so just after lunch everything is perfect.

Bonus, here is the blue living room with our fancy new rug AND my fabulous birthday present from Eric! Deluxe!
